AS SCHOOLS MATCH WITS

While attending Granby Memorial High School in 1985, I was on a team of contestants on the show “As Schools Match Wits” broadcast on WWLP Channel 22 in Springfield, Massachusetts.  Luckily my father recorded it on Betamax so that we can all get a good laugh today.  I have to say that the questions were pretty tricky!

 

CONEY ISLAND ASTRO TOWER-MY LAST RIDE

Shortly before it was closed, I made this single-shot video of the entire ride experience.  For several years afterward, the Astro Tower stood abandoned until it was finally removed forever.  Enjoy what it used to be like to experience the Astro Tower.

CLINTON RALLY/NIXON COMPARISON 1996

On October 13, 1996 Wayne’s Remains were headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Al Reynolds and I decided to “Tailgate” the Bill Clinton re-election rally on Central Avenue.  We were playing a show at the club “Fat Chance” and had seized on the election fever sweeping Albuquerque and made a poster featuring Richard Nixon and the words Fat Chance.  On the back of one of these posters, Al wrote in giant block letters the words “ANNEX CANADA” and held it up every time President Clinton looked in our direction.  We were certain that he saw it as he seemed to almost roll his eyes, likely attributing the sign to just another wacko from the southwest.

After the rally, Al was interviewed by KRQE Channel 13 and this is what happened…
