On September 6, 2013 FDNY firefighters responded to a call at 604 East 11th Street. When they first arrived they didn’t know that the fire was on the roof until bystanders told them. Then they had difficulty getting into the building until cleaning staff let them in. Several firefighters made it to the roof with large fire extinguishers and sprayed the fire, which is the large flash and pop you see on the video.
